Message from our Principal
It guise me an immense pleasure to introduce myself as a Principal of KTSP Mandal’s Khopoli Muncipal’s Arts, Science and Commerce College, popularly known as ‘KMC College’. Welcome to KMC College, Khopoli! This is an Institution that rests on a strong academic foundation, blended with a modern approach that seeks to mould young men and women into successful role models.
KMC College is established in 1969 and enjoys the privilege of being one of the oldest and best colleges affiliated to Mumbai University with consistently good performance record and is having promising awards in the sports as well. The college is spread in 2.1 acres and is situated on the bank of river Patalganga in a serene atmosphere surrounded by mountains and miraculous mist of rainy season, which is ideally suited for the pursuit of Higher Education and Research.
The college offers full-fledged degree in Arts, Commerce, Science and Computer Science. The college provides education in 9 subjects at Degree level, 03 subjects in Post Graduate Level, Ph.D. in one subjects, 03 Certificate courses. The college also offers some unique academic programs to make our students more competent. The college provides facility for external students desirous of higher education and has established study center of YCMOU (Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University).
The college was accredited with ‘’B” grade by NAAC in 2003. It has been re-accredited with ‘B’ grade with CGPA of 2.0 in 2011. I am extremely glad to share that the DST has granted a FIST grant for our Science Faculty. This will certainly encouraged us to undertake new and innovative activities for the benefit of our students. We at KMC believe that learning beyond classroom is equally important as the classroom interaction. Therefore, students are encouraged to organize, participate in various co-curricular, extra-curricular activities as well as sports. Our efforts are to provide education to the masses, educationally disadvantaged and the first-generation learners of hilly and rural area. We strive to achieve academic excellence by imparting quality teaching-learning, research, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. We also wish to develop socially responsible citizens with ethics and morals, to build the nation.
Highly motivated and qualified faculty members constantly seek to upgrade their teaching methods in order to enlarge the mental horizons of their students even as the office staff tries to provide an atmosphere of efficiency and cordiality conducive to the process of learning. Teamwork is the hallmark of KMC College. I am very sure through collaborative effort we can achieve more to benefit our students who are the future leaders of tomorrow.
I acknowledge the great support, guidance and cooperation rendered by the Management, all the parents and alumni in the advancement of the Institution which I earnestly look forward in the years to come too. I believe our appeal as a college rest in our strong sense of community, the values we celebrate, our commitment to realizing the potential of our students, and providing a balanced education that addresses the academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of our students’ lives.
