At present the library has a collection ofover
33,374 books on various subjects.
- The Library department of KMC College, Khopoli always strives to provide innovative service to staff and students. The library department has housed a rich collection of books, journals, CD-ROMs, e-journals. The Library was established in 1979 the year when the college was started. The Library department has purchased SLIM 21 LMS (Library Management System) to automate the various function of the library. The Library software provides information relating to available books, periodicals in the library. It also let the users know about the new arrivals of books in the library.
- The library department has also subscribed to N-LIST (http://nlist.inflibnet.ac.in) (National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content) which is a project initiated by INFLIBNET, Gandhinagar which provides access to e-resources which includes access to e-books and e-journals of reputed publishers.
- The library department is in the process of building digital repository of useful resources for students and staff members. The Library department has made available free Internet access facility for students and staff members for searching and finding useful information relating to study. The library department periodically receives financial grants from UGC and University of Mumbai. Reference books are purchased from UGC grants.
- University of Mumbai provides fund for the purchase of books for backward class students under Book Bank scheme. Such book sets are made available for students. Periodically Book exhibition, Orientation programme, Readers Inspiration Day and other important events are organized by the library department for the knowledge enrichment of students.
Library Rules
- The College library will remain open on all days except(Sunday and other holidays) from
8.00 am. To 5.00 p.m. for students and staff of our college.
- Complete Silence must be observed in the library and reading room. The reading room will remain open in the morning and afternoon for the students.
- Pencil or ink marking on the books in any way will be treated as a breach of
library discipline and the book will have to be replaced.
- To obtain membership learners will have to produce their identity cards and pay the prescribed amount as deposit. Books will not be issued without identity card.
- Only one book will be issued at a time to the learner. The book will not be issued for a period of seven days and if the learner fails to return it within the stipilated period he/she will have to pay a fine fifty paisa per day.
- Magazines and periodicals are not allowed to be taken out of the library. Learner can read them in the library on presenting their identy card.
- Use of Mobile Telephones is strictly prohibited in the library. Library facilities of the defaulting
Book Bank :
- The college provides books from the book bank to SC/ST students and to those
from economically weak backgrounds.
Internet & Reprographic Facilities :
- Free Internet is available in the library for student reference work. Xerox
facilities are also available in the Library.
